Sheba Arts
Community Arts
Sheba Arts is a women-led community arts organisation established in 2018.
Sheba Arts was established in response to the lack of representation in the arts sector among refugee and migrant communities and to promote diversity and social inclusion through arts and cultural activities. Using our unique grassroot methodology, we have worked with communities across Greater Manchester especially in the less engaged areas such as Wigan, Leigh, Bolton, Bury, Stockport and Salford.

We collaborated with Journeys Festival International on various projects since our inception in 2018. Our recent collaboration was a devised piece of theatre with a group of emerging artists from different backgrounds.
The play, about the Iranian women’s fight for their rights and their defiant against compulsory Hijab, was performed as 'Dance Away the Spiders' at Journeys Festival International Manchester, October 2019, and as 'Women of Freedom Square' at Kings Arms, Salford, in January 2020.
