INTERVIEW: Farhad Berahman

As plans take shape for the festival in 2017, the Journeys Festival International team had the pleasure to catch up with the first confirmed artist - the Iranian creator Farhad Berahman. His latest work ShahreFarang is a traditional Iranian peep box sculpture and will be exhibited as part of the Leicester festivals event. Portsmouth: Students Creative Response to Look Up

Musical theatre students from the University of Portsmouth have produced a creative response to the outdoor exhibition Look Up, which presented artworks by Nikos Papadopoulos from his Plasticobilism series. Directed by Evi Stamatiou, a lecturer in the School of Media and Performing Arts, #RefugeesWelcome is a performative response. RE:CONNECT Workshop - Manchester

As part of Journeys Festival International Manchester event, The Container Project hosted a variety of innovative workshop events. Working with the Rethink Rebuild Society, four refugee artists and creatives delivered workshops with members of the refugee and asylum seeker community, who had recently settled in the city. Through a series of photographic and video based work, the creative skills and potential of the participants were unlocked and showcased.
