Journeys Festival International are partners and friends of Belarus Free Theatre. The artistic directors both seek political asylum in the UK and work via Skype with the company who are still based in Belarus, the last dictatorship in Europe. We recieved this message from Belarus Free Theatre: "On Saturday 5 members of Belarus Free Theatre were arrested in Belarus as part of a major clampdown on peaceful human rights protests in Minsk. JOURNEYS - ONLINE TOUR ACROSS 4 EUROPEAN CITIES For 2017 Journeys Festival International has developed a European element to deliver events and exhibitions with partner organisations in four European cities. Journeys Festival International understands the importance of evaluation – learning and developing the festival from the input of our audiences, partners and participants. In 2016 the festival underwent a huge development from a one city event to three cities (Leicester, Manchester and Portsmouth). The festivals produced some phenomenal events that positively celebrated the artistic talents of refugees and shared refugee experiences to a wider audience.
