The Invisibles' Journey

In collaboration with Secours Catholique

19 - 28 October

9.30am - 5.30pm Saturdays

9.00am - 6.00pm Sunday - Friday

Portsmouth Cathedral

This exhibition presents paintings, drawings and prints created by migrants who took part in arts workshops organised and facilitated by the charity Secours Catholique at its day-centre in Calais (The Jungle).

Exhibiting the artwork made by the exiled persons passing though Calais (600 people in December 2017) aims to highlight the reality of their personal stories and their lives in transit. Whilst the mobility of these individuals’ remains constrained, their works

can circulate without limits.

The Freedom of Expression

Hisham Ali joins the Festival from Calais via Skype to discuss his work with Secours

Catholique and the art produced by individuals supported by the charity. Secours Catholique works with the most vulnerable members of society to support them in times of crisis, regardless of their culture or beliefs.

This session is free and open to all but booking is required.
