Words of Welcome
Created by Manchester City of Sanctuary members in collaboration with ArtReach and SBC Theatre
June 14 - 20
Throughout lockdown, Manchester City of Sanctuary, ArtReach and Stand & Be Counted Theatre have been running ‘Use Your Voice’ sessions for Sanctuary Seekers across the city to use their creativity to have their say. Together we have shared stories and ideas, created poems and plans for the future. We have laughed and cried together and used our words, in all eleven languages, to push forward.
We are proud to share Words of Welcome with you this Refugee Week, you can find copies of this new poetry collection across Manchester Libraries and below.
The generosity and hope shared in our weekly sessions is a powerful demonstration that we really are stronger when we come together and welcome everyone to connect. We hope you take inspiration and strength from the words shared here… we have had so much fun writing them for you!

Words of Welcome is funded by National Lottery Community Fund and Arts Council England.
Delivered in partnership with Manchester City of Sanctuary and Stand up and Be Counted Theatre Company.
