Working in partnership, Journeys Festival International and Friends Without Borders are seeking 10 participants to take part in their exciting new project Journeys to Portsmouth. Bringing together Portsmouth residents in conversation we hope to explore the commonalities between us all, and our relationships with ‘home’. The recorded conversations will be included in Journeys Festival International’s Container Project, at Portsmouth Cathedral, High St, Portsmouth PO1 2HH 22nd-29th October.
5 participants will be refugees/asylum seekers and 5 will be longer term migrants to Portsmouth. If you have moved to Portsmouth from anywhere in the UK or abroad you can take part!
Participants will take part in 3 recorded conversations with other Portsmouth residents which will take place within Portsmouth on the following dates:
o Tuesday 22nd August, 2-4pm, Portsmouth Central Library – (All participants required)
o Tuesday 29th August – 1st Session (2 participants)
o Friday 1st September – 2nd Session (2 Participants) o Tuesday 5th September – 3rd Session (2 participants)
o Friday 8th September – 4th Session (2 participants) o Tuesday 19th September – 5th Session (2 participants)
o Date TBC – (All Patricipants)
o You will only be required for 3 of the above dates
Participants will explore what Portsmouth means to you and your experiences within the city
Participants will receive £20 expenses for each conversation session
The recorded conversations will be on display as part of Journeys Festival International (19th-29th October)
Journeys Festival International celebrates the creative talent of exceptional refugee and asylum seeker artists, and shares refugee experiences through great art and culture. The festival takes place in Portsmouth 19th-29th October
