Journeys to Portsmouth

As part of Journeys Festival International Portsmouth (19 - 29 October 2017) a unique project will be exhibited that has been in development across the Summer of 2017.

Journeys to Portsmouth introduced established migrants living in Portsmouth with refugee and asylum seekers new to the city. The pairs attended workshops in which they spoke about feelings of belonging and welcome in Portsmouth, their personal ideas of what it is to be at "home", whilst exploring the city to learn about Portsmouth's extraordinary heritage.

The conversations have been documented and edited into a beautiful series of audio-visual clips. The Journeys to Portsmouth exhibition opens on Thursday 26 October (12-2pm and 4-6pm) and runs until Sun 29 October. At the Container Project, outside Portsmouth Cathedral.

Journeys to Portsmouth is a brilliant opportunity to learn about how Portsmouth's residents, both established and new, value the city as their home.
