Journeys Festival International is an exciting multi-artform festival that celebrates the creative talents and experiences of refugee and asylum seeker artists. The Festival will run in Portsmouth 19th – 28th October and we’re looking for University of Portsmouth film students to help make this year’s festival as great as 2017!
We’re after short films, no longer than five minutes in length, to be submitted to Journeys Festival International to be in with a chance to be screened during the Festival as part of a short film evening. The films must deal with the refugee experience or explore themes of belonging, displacement or home. Five films will be selected for screening as part of the Festival.
Students will be invited to the Journeys Festival International Launch Event where the films selected for screening will be announced by ArtReach Director David Hill. All selected films and a small selection of highly commended films will be shared via the Journeys Festival International website and social media.
Journeys Festival International are also seeking filming volunteers to film key events over the Festival dates. Volunteers will receive basic expenses to cover any travel/meals whilst volunteering and opportunities to meet artists from across the UK and organisations within Portsmouth.
An expression of interest must be sent to Claire Woollard at email@example.com by Arpil 20th 2018 and final films must be submitted by September 3rd 2018.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions about either opportunity.
